Celebrating the Rebirth of a City in Downtown Las Vegas

life is still beautiful

My husband & I went to the first Life is Beautiful festival last year shortly after I moved to Las Vegas, before we were even engaged. Imagine Dragons put on an amazing show. A lot of people don’t know this, but Imagine Dragons got their start in Las Vegas. The energy downtown that night is something I will never forget.

The lead singer Dan said something during the show that night that stayed with me the entire year.

“Welcome to the rebirth of a city,” he said.

In my timeline of Las Vegas history, Life is Beautiful was a welcoming party to just that: the rebirth of a city. Since then we moved our office downtown and became part of the community. Between the Downtown Project’s initiatives and the many new companies relocating downtown (like us!) the city has had quite the makeover. It continues to be more and more of an adventure and a happy place to live, run our business, and start our lives together.

Life is Beautiful was a blast this year too. In some ways the festival is a special occasion for us. It brought back a lot of memories of being new to Vegas. It reminded us of how far we’ve come, to be grateful for people like Tony Hsieh, to admire creativity, and to support the doers in our community.

Startup life moves super fast and it’s easy to get addicted to work. Life is Beautiful reminded us to appreciate the beautiful things and be thankful for where we live. Looking forward to next year!
